Hi everyone! Our store anniversary begins on Monday! We are so excited to mark our first year. Tons of stuff is planned and it will be super fun. So mark your calendar to celebrate with us the whole month. We are starting out with a fun game of BINGO, so get your cards ready.
Here's a peek at some of the other events. We are super excited about the FB blog hop, sales and so much more.
So, a month ago I had a request for a tutorial on how to make your pictures look like this blended photo on the left (layout is by Lindsay and made with Summertime by Fit 2 Be Scrapped):
I think I finally have the school schedules of all 5 kids figured out, volunteer times arranged, designing under control, CT assignments caught up, and a few minutes before I get to go clean the church with my family, so I'm going to get it posted now before someone realizes they need me because I'm busy ;-)
Alright, let's get down to the fun stuff! Blending photos is a great way to add a little pop to your page or to use a "less than stellar" photo- you know, blurry, bad coloring... And it's so easy to do! My instructions will be for PSE users, but I think you can probably adapt them for whatever program you're using.
Pick the picture you want to use and a plain paper to blend the picture on. Above the layers bin on the right is a box that you can drop down. It should currently say "normal". Make sure your photo that you want to blend is selected and that it is directly on top of your paper. Click on the box that says "normal" and click on overlay for a quick blend. Try any of the other styles for different effects.
Now, you'll notice on Lindsay's LO that her picture isn't square, it's erased around the edges. The best way I've found to do this is to click on your eraser tool with your blended picture selected. Choose a brush that has soft, blurred edges (I like soft mechanical 500 pixels in the basic brushes selection) and erase the parts of the picture you don't want. That's all there is to it! Try turning your picture black and white or trying different colors of paper for your background- oh the possibilities!
Now, if all this makes sense, I'm happy! If it's clear as mud, leave me a comment and I will answer it the best I can :0) Have a fabulous weekend!!!
Becky wanted specific items for this swim kit and she couldn't find any CU stuff out there. So she made her own CU items-a swim belt, a float bar, a diving board and a kickboard. She decided to package them up to make a swim CU pack.
Remember, all these products are 30% off for one week! Pin It
Can you believe it has already been a year? We can't, BUT, we are super excited to have you join us for our 1 year Scraps N Pieces anniversary. There will be prizes, events, sales, and oh so much fun. So join us all through the month of October for the PAR-TAY! We promise a GREAT time.
October is breast cancer month and the designers at Scraps N Pieces decided to create a charity collab dedicated to breast cancer. This kit is bursting! It includes 57 papers, 90 elements, 2 templates (psd, tif, png, & page), a set of gloss styles, and 2 full alphas. Even better? All of the proceeds are going to breast cancer research! We'll be donating to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation.

Abby is probably my all time favorite kit that Scraps N Pieces has made so far. I have used it for tons of layouts and still never tire of it. You can get it or either of the QP packs for $2.00. Also in honor of their upcoming retreat, coming up very soon, they have put Angel Eyes on sale. This is the kit that they designed specifically for their last retreat. You can get it or the QP pack also for $2.00 each. Hope you have a fun Saturday. Images are linked to their SNP store.

Scrap Happens to Me is hosting a Speed Scrap over at Scraps-n-Pieces on Tuesday, September 18th at 9PM EST! As a participation prize, she will be giving away a $3 coupon toward her store...that's enough to pick up any of her template packs or put toward the purchase of any of her kits! Join her on Tuesday night!
How fun is this new kit?!!! Instead of going with traditional school colors, Scraps N Pieces went the fun route with the bright colors you see in city league and co-ed teams for this kit. There are still plenty of neutrals to go with your school though, or you can always do black and white photos and match anything to this fun and funky softball kit. The kit is 1/2 off at Scraps N Pieces this week and is also available at My Memories. If you purchase the first week at Scraps N Pieces, you will also get the downloads for an embossed paper pack FREE with your download links. After the first week, it will be sold separately from the kit.
Check out these fabulous Softball layouts and some non-softball layouts as well. Take a look and be inspired.
I wasn't sure if I would find the time to participate this month, but I love the theme and the colors so I decided to squeeze it in- who needs sleep, right?? So, without further ado--- Here's what I made for Y'all! Hope you like it! Don't forget there are 2 download links :0)
